I came here to post a joke about callig it "frog", because, well it's green. But being johnny-come-lately to this pun, let me tell you, that this is a VW Type 4, maybe a 411 like this one:

Beat me to it!

Btw, I remember seeing a add in Mercado Livre a few months ago, where a guy was asking 40k for one of this. (Ok, it had the "black plate" (collection car plate), but... I though CP all the way!

40k for a collector's isn't really that CP. These things in mild shape are racking up to 17k so easily... Not hard to find a Opala or even a Corcel in a bit nicer shape costing over 50k.

Well, TBH all cars are CP. Even cars that are considered rolling bombs like the Tempra are still costing over 12k. Cars that no one wants and are collecting dust since the 90's like a Daihatsu Cuore are over 7k.

Couldn't agree more with you!

in december, I saw a red Maverick for sell, with burnt paint and the interior desperatelly needing some work. Stop to ask the price (and depending on wath the guy askes, I was willing to trade my 2004 Celta), the guy told me it was a 4 cyl and he was asking R$ 36k!!! He had a V8 in the same conditions, and was asking over 80k!!!

I guess the old cars market here are going completely nuts!

Holy crap! 80k for mild conditions V8? For that money I can buy a beat up 4 banger, restore it and import a freaking 302 in a crate (not kidding, a former colleague quoted one for less than 30k, with all the taxes including registration).

These prices are growing exponentially.

A friend of mine bought a Military CJ-5 Jeep in 1998 for R$2500. Now people have offered him over R$50k for it. You can't find a Military one (even in bad shape) for less than 30k now. I think these things are an investment after all.

Yep...

In 98 I almost bought a Mustang 69 for 16k, (didn't buy because I didn't have the money and no one was willing to lend that kind of money for a unemployed 18years old boy). In 2012, I saw the same model for over 120k

I'm quite sure that this is a 412 hatchback. It is bigger than TL and it was produced 1972-1974. TL is type 3 and 411/412 is type 4.
